Embrace balmy summer days with a jug of sangria. With red wine, Spanish brandy, sparkling water, cinnamon and chopped fruit, it's a lovely sharing cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces chopped oranges
  • 2 pieces chopped pears
  • 1 piece chopped lemon
  • 1 pieces juiced lemon
  • 200 gr chopped red berries
  • 3 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ice
  • 750 ml light red wine
  • 100 ml Spanish brandy
  • 300 ml sparkling water
Easy sangria

Directions

  1. Put the chopped fruit in a bowl and sprinkle over the sugar and cinnamon, then stir to coat.
  2. Cover and leave to macerate in the fridge for at least 1 hr, or ideally overnight.
  3. Fill a large jug with ice.
  4. Stir the macerated fruit mixture to ensure the sugar is dissolved, then tip into the jug with the wine and brandy.
  5. Stir, then top up with the sparkling water and serve.
