Aam Panna is an Indian drink renowned for its heat-resistant properties. It is made from raw mangoes, is yellow to very light green, and is consumed as a tasty and healthy beverage to fight against the intense Indian summer heat. In most instances, mint leaves are added which enhances the green color.

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Unripe Green Mango
  • 3 tsp Cardamom
  • 1 cup Fresh Mint
  • 5 tsp Black Salt

Directions

  1. Choose the raw mangoes which are tart.
  2. You can keep the skin on before boiling the mangoes. It gives a very distinct flavor to the Panna.
  3. Peeling the skin before boiling makes the process very easy.
  4. If the Panna is not very tangy, you can add some lemon juice to it.
  5. Boil Mango with mild heat in 1 cup of water.
  6. You can also roast mango before boiling if needed for crispy taste.
  7. The subtly smoky flavor in this drink will take it to the next level.
  8. Strain into the prepared glass.
  9. Garnish with a parsley sprig, 2 speared green olives, and a lime wedge and a celery stalk (optional).
